iPod Touch 4G Review.Two Thumbs up!

First off Welcome to this 8Gb 32Gb 64 iPod Touch 4G review comparison. Since the first iPod Touch came out in September of 2007 to the glee of techies globally , a new one has followed every year like clockwork and i'm here now to bring you this Fourth Generation (4G) iPod Touch review just like i've always done. Looks/Appeal what do you think?

So where to start? The first thing you'd when you see the new Touch is of course , how it looks .Duh! So a year later , have we gotten sleeker , slimmer , shinier more round and all the things that seem to give off that high tech vibe, that makes the tech guys go weak at the knees?

Well for starters it has gotten extremely thin and a little lighter (14g), like the iPhone's anorexic cousin ! I know that one was bad ,but we like slimness .The buttons are all the same , though they have shifted slightly in position to closer match the iPhone 4G.At last !...they finally included camera round to the rear , which is something that touch users have been asking for for the last couple of years

4th Generation Hardware

They've really made some improvements to the hardware in this version . RAM has doubled from 256Mb to 512Mb. Apple has brought out its all new Retina Display which boasts much more detail and vibrant colors than its predecessors. The resolution has been greatly increased to 960x640 pixels up from 480x320 of the previous third generation (3rd gen) ipod touch. They've effectively managed to double the resolution so you can be sure your pictures and videos look much more crisp when viewed on the ipod touch.

There is all the rave about the new A4 chip which cost Apple over 1 billion to develop and runs at 1Ghz compared to the to the 600MHz of the older Cortex chip in the ipod touch third generation.This means between the graphics and new CPU and GPU power , the iPod Touch will be able to run much more advanced games and apps and do so more than twice as well as the iPod Touch 3g.

Audio/TV and Camera/Video itouch 4G Review

The iPod Touch 4G retains the same solid audio and headphones , but adds support for a couple more formats Audible enhanced audio AAX and AAX+.The video now supports 1024 x768 pixels with Dock Connector to VGA Adapter.The headphones with mic and remote seems to have been replaced with the traditional headphones only.

The new camera supports both video recording and photo taking. There are actually two cameras, one at the front and one at the rear of the iTouch . The front cmera is for Facetime video calling while the rear one is for pictures and video recording.HD Video recording (720p) is supported up to 30 frames per second with audio, still photos (960 x 720) with back camera.
It also supports VGA-quality photos and video up to 30 frames per second with the front camera. with the option for Photo and video geo tagging over Wi-Fi.The built in speaker remains and a microphone was added.

Battery Life

In our review we've realized that Apple has managed to increase the battery life by 10 hours for music playback (30hours to 40hours) and 1 hour for video playback (6 hrs to 7 hrs) meaning you can be on the road that much longer with your new iTouch 4 G.

So should you trade in your old iPod Touch 3rd generation 3G model for the newer 4th generation?
